Anderson Cooper and CNN Crew Attacked by Mob in Egypt

Anderson Cooper Egypt

The situation in Egypt gets worst as hundreds and hundreds of Government supporters arm themselves with anything around in order to defend their president from the opposition.  Ridding camels and horses some of these supporters have been physically attacking not only anti-Mubarak movements, but also any civilian and even journalists.

Anderson Cooper and his CNN news crew were seriously attacked by a Mubarak supporter. Cooper earlier said he was punch 10 times on his head by this subject who later kept moving forward to support his partners. The Network later reported that even though their crew was heavily attacked by these people, no one from his crew got badly injured.

Cooper later gave a more detailed report in the "American Morning" show. The famous CNN reporter said his crew was trying to find a safe area in between pro and anti Mubarak movements but some people just wanted to look for a fight. We were attacked by pro-Mubarak supporters he added.

The indiscriminating attacks to Journalists are something tremendously negative that should not be happening in any place. What type of ideals would take people to go ahead and actually commit crimes in such ways? Clearly this is a demonstration of a real uncivilized society where democracy is not present, therefore everyone should be worried for their own safety.

  2. The situation has gotten out of hand; people are willing to fight anyone they can out of anger or maybe even no reason at all just to make a point. If they are trying to get their voice heard they chose a wrong way of doing it, especially hurting reporters who are just doing their jobs and trying to get information out there, and who are not taking any sides, supposedly.

  3. I made the statement last week about this situation and how this attacking of journalist would affect future visits by American journalist. I think this statement will hold true due to the little involvement that the US has in this situation.
