Google 3D Virtual Gallery Tours

Google is a gigantic company, which today is not only a search engine, but it also gives us a wide range of services most of which are web-oriented, such as software and even mobile phones. Giant Google is not only in technology but also in web development, innovating and improving constantly. The new very interesting Google’s website is called Google virtual gallery Tours.

UNESCO has listed more than 890 places that the art site considered. In this way, everyone will have access to them virtually with very high quality images. Tools such as Google Maps, and Street View will let us enjoy of 17 art galleries in the U.S. and in Europe with 360 degree panoramic 290 degree horizontal and vertical, to feel like we are right there even though we are not.

What is most impressive of the Google Art Project is the level of detail of the paintings that the museums select to be captured in high resolution. Each of these photographs is more than 7 billion pixels which would be like using a thousand standard digital cameras to capture the image, plus it has used a special technology to appreciate all the detail in your browser, thanks to Picasa.

This is an opportunity to virtually visit these sites of very important cultural content, from the comfort of our home and just by moving the mouse and a couple of clicks. The Art Project is a great idea and an attempt at putting the Internet in the service of culture and art. So if you have not visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art or want to know the works on display at the Van Gogh Museum, do not worry, you can do it anytime.
