Gaddafi Continues Offensive; as Rebel Forces Ask for International Aid.

A rebel fires a rocket-propelled grenade from a militia post in Ajdabiya, Libya.

Troops loyal to Muammar Gaddafi maintain its strong offensive on the rebel-controlled area. Libyans revolution has now returned to claim for assistance of the international community to end the slaughter of civilians.
Gaddafi’s forces launched an air and ground attack on the Ras Lanuf oil enclave, some350 km west of Benghazi.
According to a correspondent of the Qatari, aviation loyal to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has bombed rebel positions in the oil terminal that contains dangerous flammable deposits, so that its explosion could have caused a disaster difficult to calculate.
It is unknown whether the Government seeks to recover for the city of Tripoli and the port, or is it just an attempt to test the rebel, with the deployment of ground combat means that so far have proved superior in area to those from the revolutionaries. Militants endured scathing attacks on Tuesday from loyal troops, six air missiles kept cornered the rebels who are trying to defend by all mean Ras Lanuf city. Information by Al Jazeera is talking about 21 deaths in the last hours in the fighting, but the figure is difficult to corroborate.
The consequences of these attacks, in addition to the casualties were the evacuation and exodus of the inhabitants of the oil terminal which has the capacity to export more than 200,000 barrels a day. This off course is affecting every gas consumer in the world, since gas prices have double and even triple in some countries around the globe. On January I was filling up my gas tank with only 30 American dollars now it is demanding for the same amount of gas around 55 dollars. The world is having very important revolutionary instances that have been causing economical issues all over, let’s just hope all these efforts will be for the good of all those feeling pain today.

  1. "According to a correspondent of the Qatari, aviation loyal to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has bombed rebel positions in the oil terminal that contains dangerous flammable deposits, so that its explosion could have caused a disaster difficult to calculate." This should open everybody's eyes to the point that what happens millions or miles away does effect what we do and how we do it. We are seeing the effects dealing with our gas prices.

  2. It's crazy the turmoil that the world is facing right now. We wonder why we are constantly at war, having an economy going down hill, and sky-rocketed gas prices. Things really need to change, and soon before something terrible occurs, (I mean that is not a natural disaster.)
    God bless!

  3. The world is going through many drastic changes and it is affecting everyone no matter when and where. The world really is connected and many ways we are all the same and have the same problems which some problems happened to others early or later, but it has and will happen to everyone across the globe, I just hope things get better.

  4. This military stuff in the Middle East scares me and i feel sorry for all the people who live in Libya and have to put up with Gadhafi all the time. I believe that this could lead to something far worse but pray that i am not here then.

  6. his should open people's eyes that things happening in other parts of the world do matter and they do affect us...it took too long for people to finally stop talking about Charlie Sheen to really see what's going on in Libya

  7. The civil war in Libya is going to hurt not only Libya but also our economy. This is something really important. We need to realize that this is going to affect our world. Libya might be an ocean away but they are still people with feelings. They want to be free like us.
